DJ Shy LOVE ME OR HATE ME... I'M STILL GONNA DO WHAT I DO! I'm just your all out regular type of person who LOVES music and LOVES being DJ. I'm not your typical type of DJ. (who I personally think that most of the DJ's I've met are so high on themselves), I'm modest in a way... SHY!! If you compliment me on how I spin, I thank you. If you tell me that I suck, that's your opinion, which everyone is entitled to. I've had the interest in being a DJ. back in 1987, learned the basics in 1988, became a full pledged DJ. in 1989... YES... MANY MOONS AGO! I've mastered the art in mixing unlike some of the toy DJ's today, you ask what is the art of mixing? Well, you'd just have to hear me spin LIVE, and remix LIVE! You can say that I'm from the "Old School", yup that's right! When grafitti bombing and breakdancing was in and not eaten up and wack as it is today. Much props to you people though who claim "B-Boy, B-Girl" if you want to call yourselves that, but I'm a true B-Boy from the pioneering days of M.O.B., U.A.C., S.A.S., M.A.S.K.A., ALLIES, TEAMSTERS, UNION, & C.A.R.

Recordings, he developed his skills, and now is spinning at various venues. Not only a MC and a DJ, But also is a reporter for the TV show “THE SLANT”, Marco is currently doing the music segments on the show, so be sure to tune in to channel 41 every Thursday at 6pm and Midnight to catch him. When asked what his inspirations for he does are, he replied “ There are two people that really inspired me to do what I’m doing now, Number one, Joe Hahn from Linkin Park, Just because the things he does is so sick, And number two would be DJ shy, my mentor, He taught me to listen to the music not just hear it.

My DJ career started for me probably when I was just in 7th grade. I would stay up late recording late night hot mixes on b96. By Bobby D, Too Cool Chris, DJ Markski. Back when house was blowing up. As soon as I would have enough tape recordings, my best friend Tony and I would mix with our duel tape deck. Pop the cover off and adjust the speed by holding down either side of the spindle. It was ghetto but it worked. During that period I fell in love with art of mixing. Having to work a job that pays 4.15 an hour to fond out white label records cost about 5 bucks back then it was hard. But it was fun. DJing for me is really an art. Once high school came around I came across more friends with real equipment. Then from that point we became mobile DJ's. I did my time doing weddings , cotillions, socials and other small events including house parties. Towards the end of my high school years I kind of got side tracked , put the DJing aside got into cars. Made it my profession, up until I meet Carlo Derupe. Back in 2002. I never new he was a DJ nor I new about his brother DJ Shy. Up until fall 2005 it sparked my interest to spin again. Thanks to Carlo for giving me that chance to prove my self to S.A.S. Just the training alone by shy was a bitch. Just knowing that these old school DJ's listen to spin was crazy pressure. Buy all worth while. My passion for spinning will never fade out. If that beat in you keeps on bumping. Then you got. Anybody can say they can mix. But knowing were your inner rhythm is separates you from the rest. I'm DJ BJ. Thank you. |
