St. Patricks Day Celebration -
Saturday,
March 13th Open at Noon
Wednesday,
March 17th Open at 3pm
Following the potato famine in 1845 Irish people immigrated to the United States much to the displeasure of the existing residents. Consequently when the Irish people took to the streets on March 17th to celebrate the religious holiday of St. Patrick, the newspapers portrayed them as drunken violent monkeys. In fact, until the late 1970's even in Ireland the bars were closed on March 17th so that people could celebrate the religious holiday in a more pious and sober manner.
So it is in that light that we open our bar at noon to mock the Irish people of the world by getting as drunk as humanly possible as early in the day as we can tolerate. Cheers and let the intolerance and stereotypes rule the day!
